The NB Rude Boys are a New Bedford, MA based band that fuses the classic styles of ska, reggae, rock steady and punk rock to deliver a spirited live performance featuring driving rhythms and a crushing horn section.
The NB Rude Boys was formed in April 2018 by experienced musicians who share a common love for Ska - a style of music first played in the dancehalls of Jamaica in the 1960s; and, a genre that continues to evolve while attracting a worldwide base of dedicated fans. The NB Rude Boys played their first show in June 2018 opening for Jamaican ska legends The Skatalites and the band has since played over 150 shows, either on a sole bill or sharing the stage with regional and national touring ska, reggae and punk rock acts, including Bim Skala Bim, Angelo Moore/Fishbone, Badfish, Spring Heeled Jack, The Void Union, Riki Rocksteady All Stars, and Pilfers.
The NB Rude Boys recently recorded their debut record “Welcome to Rude Bedford” and are available to support local and national touring acts throughout New England. And of course, local breweries, bars and nightclubs are always fun, especially in the summertime months. The NB Rude Boys are Bob Place (Drums), Sean FitzGerald (Vocals), Rick Rude (Bass), Donn Legge (Guitars), Big Walt (MC and DJ), Johnny V. (Trombone), Steve Furtado (Trumpet) and Luke Gosselin (sax). Special guest vocalists and musicians are often on stage too.
